2nd Time's a Charm

Here's the back story.  My Great-Grandma Harney showed me how to crochet many years ago.  It usually was a simple chain and slip stitches back and forth.  Growing up I made clothes for my "Beanie Babies" and later on covers to protect my cell phone from the MULTIPLE times I dropped them... :)

But just recently, my older sister asked if I could crochet a hat from my niece.  She had seen some really cute ones online and gave me a challenge to complete a hat.  I had tried to crochet beanies before, but greatly failed!! But I took her challenge and ran with it.

Without any assistance I made hat #1...

Wasn't a perfect fit (was quite loose) and too big to the point I had to fold up part of the hat and had to make a draw string (blue crocheted chain).  My niece can pull it off, but it wasn't really what we were thinking.

The great thing about crocheting - it can be taken apart easily!!  It may take awhile to make and it isn't always fun to watch your work unravel, but the hat has now been transformed... (Don't worry the ear will be fixed)

Sweet little "Boo" Bear!!
